The Honda S2000 Ultimate Edition, the last production model of the award winning sports car, will go on sale this coming March in Europe according to Honda. It will come with the popular 2.0-liter 9000 rpm VTEC powerplant and merge it with a Grand Prix White body and alloy wheels with graphite color finish. The color is reminiscent of the 1964 F1 Honda sports car and also of other versions from that time. The car's timeless roadster body shape is given a fresh look through a combination of the exterior paint finish with the dark alloy rims and special black S2000 logo.
The interior red leather with special red colored stitching on the gear lever gaiter perfectly matches the white exterior. The Honda S2000 Ultimate Edition will be assigned unique numbered plates to indicate their series position. The S2000 is almost 10 years old now, but the engine that comes with it, the 240 hp 2-liter remains one of the best powerplants with the highest yield per liter and revving ever created.
This has resulted a five-time winning of the International Engine of the Year category award for 1.8 to 2.2 liter engines for the Honda S2000 since it came out in 1999. The production of the Ultimate Edition will halt by June this year with overall total sales reaching 110,673 cars around the world, with European sales totaling 19,987 units. The car will be showcased this coming March 3 at the 2009 Geneva International Motor Show.
