As expected due to the rumors, Lamborghini uncovered today ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera a.k.a. the latest model in the Gallardo line-up. As you may know already the Superleggera badge means that the car is lighter than the standard model and the new Gallardo makes no exception. According to the manufacturer the Gallardo Superleggera has been trimmed by 70 kilograms (154 lb) and has a dry weight of no more than 1340 kilograms (2954 lb), which means is the lightest road-going model in Lamborghini's range.
Also, the car features exterior and interior component made from carbon-fiber. Regarding the engine, the new Gallardo features the same 5.2-liter V10 engine capable to deliver 570 hp (419 kW) (80.5 kW or 109.6 hp per liter.) and 540 Nm (398,3 ft lbs) at 6,500 rpm - this means a weight-to-power ratio of the new top model at only 2.35 kilograms (5.18 lb) per hp.
The Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and flies past the 200 km/h (124 mph) mark only 10.2 seconds later while the top speed achieved is 325 km/h (202 mph). The engine with Iniezione Diretta Stratificata gasoline direct injection also boasts an impressive degree of efficiency. Its fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 20,5 percent compared to the previous model. Due to the high speeds, the car features 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa high performance tires as well as an mighty braking system.
