GM announces 16 potential buyers for the Saturn brand

It looks like GM is going full speed ahead in spite the fact that it filed bankruptcy protection just a couple of days ago. The significant numbers the carmaker announced of late includes the following: 14 facilities to be shut down, 23,000 jobs to be cut, 1,300 dealers to be closed, a buyer for the Hummer brand identified, three buyers for Saab and 16 potential buyers for the Saturn brand.
The attractiveness of Saturn comes from the fact that it has a right-sized, ready-made, stand alone group of dealers with outstanding record for superb customer service. Included in the terms for any sales agreement of Saturn will most probably include General Motors providing vehicles in the short term just until the new owners will be able to appeal to other carmakers. No names have yet been revealed as potential bidders for Saturn although several names have been discussed and considered. [via autoblog]
