GM kills the Cadillac SRX Turbo model due to poor sales

It appears that poor sales made another victim in the car industry as General Motors decided to kill the SRX Turbo crossover. These words came from a Cadillac PR who confirmed that the SRX Turbo has been discontinued, after few dealerships speculated this fact.
Cadillac spokesman Robyn Henderson also added that over 90 percent of buyers who wanted a SRX crossover, went for the model powered by the 3.0-liter V6 engine. The engine delivers 265 horsepower (198 kW) and is mated to a Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. SRX FWD models with the 3.0L engine are EPA-rated at 25 mpg on the highway.
The 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine found on the SRX Turbo delivers estimated 300 horsepower (224 kW) and uses an AF40 six-speed automatic transmission featuring a driver-selectable “eco mode” that alters transmission shift points to maximize fuel economy.
So, although the SRX Turbo model is more powerful than its standard version, it appears that it was not an attractive model. Cadillac spokesperson Robyn Henderson also said that the SRC crossover will continue to be a sales leader in the luxury crossover segment, because the American vehicle has a bigger market share comparing it to its main rivals cars such as BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Mercedes-Benz GLK.
