GM says that Cadillac ATS Coupe is on its way

2013 Cadillac ATS

At this point, we don’t know for a fact whether the Cadillac ATS Coupe and its variants would be dropped or if they will be produced due to the contrasting rumors being tossed around. Cadillac itself is being vague. In a recent Motor Trend report, Cadillac is expected to shelve the ATS Coupe and to forget about plans to make the convertible and wagon variants. But when asked about the ATS, Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell said that there is “no recent radical shift in strategy.” It may mean that ATS Coupe isn’t making any progress and isn’t part of any plan or GM may be focusing on its development. Caldwell added, “On either end of the spectrum the reporting is inaccurate.” He also said that there’s a plan to make variants, implying that the concept of ATS variants haven’t been dropped entirely. He said that the company has yet to determine how this plan will be executed. It could also be interpreted to mean that Cadillac will gauge how the market responds to the ATS before it offers variants. [source: Autoblog]
