General Motors quashed rumors that the bidding process for Opel/Vauxhall will extend yet further by reopening it to other parties. GM CEO Fritz Henderson said that a deal will be struck with either of the remaining two bidders as soon as possible. Speaking on the sidelines of a GM event in Detroit, GM's chief financial officer Ray Young said that everyone is "anxious to get this thing done." RHJ is favored by GM while the Opel unions and the German government have thrown their support behind the Magna bid. [via autocar]
