GM will offer right-hand drive Camaro in India in mid-2011

General Motors said that the Camaro, its iconic muscle car, will be offered in India as a right-hand drive model. The two-door sports coupe was first seen at the Delhi Auto Expo last year, but back then, it was merely a ‘Show Car’ and there were no plans to import the car. It’s believed that GM reconsidered this decision when it noticed that India’s growth was rising at an accelerated pace. The Camaro is likely to arrive by the middle of 2011.
President of GM’s international operations Tim Lee said that GM doesn’t anticipate high sales for the Camaro in India but it is seen as a brand builder. Lee added that the Camaro is expected to attract many potential buyers to its showrooms. GM has yet to reveal its pricing or the equipment levels but IndianAutosBlog predicts that it will cost twice as much as it does in America.
This would make it the most expensive Chevrolet offering. GM has also yet to determine which versions of the Camaro will arrive at the Asian market, but in the U.S., the sports coupe is available with two power levels.
