Goodwood Director to ride a Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase

Ghost Extended Wheelbase

The Race Director of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed will be riding on a Ghost Extended Wheelbase, one of two Rolls-Royce press fleet cars taking part in the event this year. Ghost Extended Wheelbase is powered by a dynamic V12 direct-injection engine that transmits up to 563 hp of power to the wheels through an eight speed automatic gearbox, allowing the Race Director to manage the curves and hill climb at Goodwood at an easy pace. Having midnight sapphire finish with a silver satin bonnet, the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase could accelerate from zero to 62mph time in just five seconds.

The car’s superior ride qualities are primarily thanks to its double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension combined with an intelligent, four cornered air-suspension system and electronic variable damping. The Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase is sure to please the world’s most exclusive customers with its hand-built interior flourishing with light, thanks to a panoramic sunroof.

The interior of the Ghost Extended Wheelbase features luxurious hand-stitched leathers in crème light and navy blue, bordered by car’s dark wenge veneer. Meanwhile, the second Rolls-Royce press car, a Phantom Saloon Series II finished in blue velvet sparkle, will be climbing the hill during the Moving Motor Show set on June 28, for exclusive media and VIP drives. Rolls-Royce unveiled the Phantom Series II at Geneva this year and will make the press car available for loans at the end of July.
