Green light for the 300 hp Volvo C30
Volvo intends to produce an exclusive new version of the C30 hatchback, an all-wheel drive model according to the company’s officials. It is programmed already that the new high-performance model will be developed in a limited edition of just 4500 vehicles. The car will be powered by a 2.5L turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine, same used on the forthcoming Ford Focus RS and will receive a Haldex-derived four-wheel drive system.
With a name still not known, the new automobile will feature a special body kit, motorsport seats and will be fitted with 20-inch wheels with color-keyed brake calipers. There is already a high demand for this model in the UK market and it seems that 40% of the total production will be distributed there. Some rumors reveal that one of the selling strategy is to provide limited batches of the cars in striking primary colors, with numbered series plates featured in the cabins.
