Hirsch upgrades the Saab 9-3 Aero fleet

Hirsch Saab 9-3

Hirsch, the Swiss tuner, has made a whole body kit in carbon for the Saab 9-3 Aero sedan, convertible, and SportCombi. They enlisted the assistance of Saab's aerodynamicist Hakan Danielsson and his team together with Taras Czornyj, who was the lead exterior designer on the 9-3 SportCombi, to do the best job of enhancing aerodynamics, lowering drag, and making the car appear good. The result was that at the front were a 3-piece upper mesh grill, a bigger front spoiler with incorporated splitters, and a lower mesh grill that boost airflow to the intercooler.

Formed side skirts lead the way to a rear diffuser and a bigger rear spoiler on the sedan and convertible. Hirsch created a hatch spoiler appropriate for the WRC for the SportCombi.

The carbon fiber parts which were laminated by hand are coated with UV protection, have been tested in the wind tunnel, and also evaluated and homologated for safety by the Royal Netherlands Motor Vehicle Authority. According to Hirsch, that means that the components are approved for installation in all outlets. The kit is for the Aero trim level only, and the tag is listed as "on request," but considering the prices of each individual component, it may be almost EUR1,500 excluding the wheels.
