Honda Accord four-door coupe in the works

It was recently reported by the Germans from Auto Motor und Sport that Honda is currently working on a serious competitor for the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the Volkswagen Passat CC. The 8th generation of the Accord, which will make its debut in 2011, will be the perfect opponent for the two German cars, but will this vehicle have the same success as the CLS and CC? This remains a dilemma! Anyway, regarding the engines, according to our sources, the four-door coupe will carry under the hood a 2.4-liter engine capable to deliver 200 hp, connected to a six-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed automatic gearbox. If it is a Honda, then it will certainly have a Type-S version , powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine delivering 260 hp and connected to a six-speed double-clutch gearbox. For those folks who don't know we reported last Sunday, that Honda is also planning two new hybrid sports cars!
