Honda announces new features in its 2010 Accord lineup

Honda announces that its 2010 Accord lineup have been fitted with new features that are set to elevate its appeal and support a legendary reputation as a class leader for quality and customer satisfaction, according to Erik Berkman, vice president of American Honda Motor Co. These changes include an expanded application of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink on vehicles equipped with leather seating surfaces. This was previously exclusive to navigation-equipped models. The Accord Sedan EX and EX-L models have been fitted with new rear ventilation ducts. The Accord EX models get graphically optimized climate control buttons and a trunk roof lining. All models will have a more-contrasting lighter gray color theme for the climate control buttons, hence differentiating the system controls from the nearby dark gray audio system buttons.
In addition, the dual-zone activation button name changed to "SYNC" from DUAL. A highlight of the safety features is the installation of the Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE), a body design that helps to distribute and therefore reduce the crash energy throughout the front of the vehicle. The Accord is available in a V-6 and a 4-cylinder engine. The 3.5-liter, 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V-6 engine produces 271hp and benefits of Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology that can deactivate up to half of the cylinders while cruising to improve fuel economy.
Exclusive to the Accord V-6 Coupe is a 3.5-liter V-6 VTEC engine mated with 6-speed manual transmission. A 190hp 2.4-liter, 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine is standard in the Accord Sedan EX, EX-L and Accord Coupe LX-S, EX and EX-L. The 2.4-liter Accord Sedan LX and LX-P four-cylinder engine produces 177 hp and features a DOHC i-VTEC valvetrain system. Available transmissions include a 5-speed manual (standard with all 4-cylinder engines), a 5-speed automatic (available with all 4-cylinder engines and standard on V-6-powered models) and an available 6-speed manual transmission on the Accord Coupe EX-L V-6.
