Honda CR-Z to show up at this year’s Tokyo Auto Show

It is public knowledge that Honda intends to bring in a production variant of the CR-Z two-seater hybrid as a follow up to its latest Insight. Details have now been relayed via a well-placed source providing information that has never been known before. First off, the production model of the CR-Z will be officially introduced this November at the Tokyo Motor Show and hit outlets by December in Japan.

The news of all news is that Honda is planning to make a CR-Z Type R a Type R hybrid! What can be confirmed is that the Type R hybrid will be opened next year. Details of the conversion from the standard CR-Z to Type R is unfortunately unavailable. There are so many queries surrounding this model and the possibilities are endless.

Honda, however, is supposed to provide details about the Type R come November during the Tokyo Motor Show and there's a possibility that a concept of this car will showcase next to the CR-Z. There is news that Honda's CRX replacement will be introduced late next year as a 2011 model. The new CR-Z, set to see a hybrid version, will be having a 2.0-liter gasoline engine under the hood at the same time using the latest technology from the Insight that consists of an electric motor and battery pack to raise potency and fuel economy. The CR-Z concept has been showcasing at motor events and a near production model is expected to show by the end of 2009.
