Would you like to see a production version of this EV-N Concept currently displayed at the Tokyo Motor Show? If so, you may have to convince Honda since it doesn't plan to build a small electric car any time soon. The small N360 hatch of the 1960s was used as inspiration for the EV-N Concept. You may notice that the EV-N is styled not to look like a production car. An insider says that this was intentional since Honda doesn't have plans to produce this concept car just yet.. Honda believes that battery electric cars are only useful as commuter cars, which is why the EV-N is so small. Honda considers hybrids as merely the stop gap while fuel cells are in the long-term future. The four-seat EV-N concept is not much longer than a Smart Fortwo and has a lithium ion battery pack, a marked improvement over the metal hydride cells in the CR-Z. Honda hasn't quite confirmed or firmly decided on anything yet. Officially the EV-N is only one of many possible proposals for a future Honda electric city car.
