Honda introduces 2012 Ridgeline Sport

2012 Honda Ridgeline Sport

Honda is offering a new trim level for the 2012 model of its Ridgeline truck that’s named Sport. The changes made are mostly on its appearance as there aren’t any significant upgrades to its performance. If black is your favorite color, then you’d love the Ridgeline Sport. Black is used on the head-, fog-, and taillight bezels; the mirrors; door handles; unique honeycomb grille; and 18-inch wheels.

It uses the same equipment as a regular Ridgeline RT model. Honda will actually install a new grille design on each 2012 Ridgeline. It’s believed that the Ridgeline will use the same chrome-slat grille design that will be seen on the 2012 Pilot. The 2012 Ridgeline is expected to have had its fuel economy improved.

The 250-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine will likely stay the same while the five-speed automatic transmission could be exchanged for a six-speed unit, similar to what’s used on the Acura MDX, which is built on a similar platform. Presently, the truck has an EPA rating of 15/20 mpg (city/highway). The new Ridgeline (as well as the Sport variant) starts selling this November.
