There’s only a 10% chance that a Honda car will break down within 12 months. Primarily for this reason, Honda was given the most reliable used car brand award for the seventh straight year by What Car? magazine and Warranty Direct in its annual reliability survey. Coming in at No. 2 is Toyota with a 17% failure rate for the same 12-month period. Lexus is at No. 3 with an 18% failure rate. Meanwhile, Land Rover came in last for the 11th year, with results showing a 71% failure rate. According to Honda UK managing director Dave Hodgetts, scoring high in these reliability studies is proof of how dedicated, skilled, and passionate its engineers are, both in its development and manufacturing. What Car? editor in chief Chas Hallett said that when a car isn’t anymore under warranty, it can cause the consumer some inconvenience and wasted money.
