Honda Odyssey Concept unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show

As you may know already Honda announced the debut of the Odyssey Concept, at this year's Chicago Auto Show... and here it is! Slightly lower and wider than the current Odyssey, the new concept previews a new styling direction for the best-selling minivan in the U.S. Featuring a lightning-bolt cut that separates the sheet metal from the window glass, the new Odyssey Concept promises to shift away from the strict, flat beltline seen in most minivans.

Other features that improve the new design are the steeply raked front and rear pillars and a tapered side cabin but also the lowered appearance resulting from a closer body-to-wheel proportion. According to the manufacturer, the new minivan promises to offer an improved interior seating, packaging and storage.Honda also said that the new model will deliver a better fuel consumption of 19 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway thanks to the powertrain upgrades.

"The Odyssey established its reputation by providing families with what they most want in a minivan great functionality, an emphasis on safety and good fuel economy," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of American Honda product planning. "Odyssey then further delighted customers with its surprisingly engaging, fun-to-drive and dynamic nature. The next-generation Odyssey promises to take these strengths to a higher level while adding more style and personality."
