Honda refuses any press conference at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show

Honda LogoThe refusal of Honda to give any press conference is the latest hint that the 2009 Detroit Auto Show could mean that the carmaker is having problem with the money. The Japanese auto manufacturer still intent in unveiling the production Insight hybrid, but will do so by merely adding its Prius-killer to the showroom floor along with all its line-up.

The move significantly came a day after Nissan and Infiniti totally dropped out of Detroit, which were then followed by Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Ferrari, Land Rover and Rolls-Royce. Honda refuses to expend extra money on live presentations with special effects and large travel budgets when the U.S. automobile market is going down the drain. Honda will not provide any press conferences in Chicago, also. If Detroit is going to be slow, Chicago is shaping up to be worse.
