It seemed like it was only yesterday but the Lexus has now been around for 20 years. Toyota twittered out for everyone to greet Lexus on its 20th Anniversary. The project began in 1983 when Toyota sought to create a flagship automobile that would challenge the best that the world had to offer. Six years later, Toyota stunned the automobile world by unleashing the Lexus LS 400. The car certainly helped propel Toyota as one of the big three luxury automakers in the US. Congratulations are in order for Lexus and Toyota! Cheers! Now, we have a question: will Lexus celebrate its birthday with a new special model? [via autoblog]
