Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) said that it has built 140 HSV 25 Anniversary GTS models that will go on sale on October 18. These are being offered to celebrate 25 years of making faster Holden models. Only 15 of the limited-edition models will be sold in New Zealand while 10 will be offered in Australia. On the HSV 25th Anniversary GTS, the 436-hp 6.2-liter V-8 and six-speed manual transmission has been unchanged. The limited-edition model gets improvements to its performance like lightweight 20-inch forged alloy wheels with a satin graphite finish. HSV said that the wheels lower the unsprung weight by 8%. The six-piston brakes, together with a 50% increase of pad area, help in bringing the GTS to a halt.
The one-of-a-kind satin graphite “vector” hood scoops and side vents are matched to the 20-inch alloys and will serve as a contrast to the four paint colors that are available. These are: Heron (white), Sting (red), Hazard (yellow), and Phantom (black). The seats carry embroidered 25th anniversary logos for the seats, Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI) start-up screen, sill plates, and an internal I.D. plate to mark the milestone.
EDI can provide real-time performance data, which include G forces, lap times, power and torque. The special GTS will also receive special badges as well as a blindspot monitoring system and two-mode exhaust system. On the day that it will start selling, the HSV 25th Anniversary GTS will be displayed at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. A six-speed automatic, sunroof, DVD player, and liquid propane injection are optional.
