President of Toyota, Akio Toyoda, said that aside from the firm's plans to build a hybrid and an electric vehicle, they are also near to build their first hydrogen-powered car set to have a market debut by 2015. Only BMW's 7-Series currently offers hydrogen-powered models. Meanwhile, Toyota said that in 2012, the Toyota iQ will soon be available as an electric vehicle and the Toyota Prius will have a Plug-in Hybrid version. Instead of the currently widely spread Li-Ion batteries, the future models will be using Ni-mh batteries because current demand for Li-Ion batteries exceeds its production capacity.
