Hyundai Motor Company, the major car producer of South Korea, and Prada, one of the planet's foremost brands in the business of luxury products, will work together to design three unique versions of the Genesis Sedan that will merge the most excellent technology and engineering design with superior quality materials, craftsmanship and the latest ground-breaking approach geared at generating a fresh driving experience.
The first car will debut at the 2009 Seoul Motor Show and then exhibited at the headquarters of Hyundai Motor Company in Seoul, while the other two vehicles will be sold to the highest bidders at the Prada Transformer, a one of its kind, provisional building that will house a series of different art, cinema, culture and fashion events from March to July next year.
The earnings will be donated to a charity under the combined name of Hyundai Motor Company-Prada Transformer. Prada's design team will design and manufacture three special versions of the Genesis sedan in Italy in excess of a four month period, operating directly with engineers and designers of Hyundai Motor Company, using the house's characteristic materials. Hyundai, which moved into the luxury car category this year with its latest rear-wheel drive V6 and V8 sedan Genesis, is making a wide berth for innovative and creative notions from the best the world can offer. The special edition venture will build the groundwork for upcoming collaboration between the Korean carmaker and other handpicked partners.
