Hyundai i10 Electric revealed ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show

Most of you knew about the electric version of the Hyundai i10 because we told you about it in this post. Today the car was officially unveiled prior to the Frankfurt Motor Show and is set to be leased from the second half of 2010 before going into full production in 2012. The new car comes with a 49kw electric motor and a 16kw lithium-ion polymer battery (developed by LG), which are lighter that the nickel hydride batteries and offer 12% efficiency boost. According to the manufacturer the battery can be charged to 85% in just 15 minutes from a 413V power source while the full recharge can be made in five hours. With a full recharge the car has a range of 100 miles (160 km), a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/g) and can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 15 seconds.
