Hyundai Motor America will increase leasing this year and it will also offer the Sonata mid-sized sedan for a lease for the first time since 2007. At the Detroit Auto Show, Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai's sales chief, revealed that the redesigned Sonata goes on sale next month and that it will be offered with monthly lease payments of $209. He said that the company plans to keep it there for the rest of the year and that 25%-30% of Sonata deals this year could be leases. Zuchowski said that the fact that the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are "lease-centric," has hurt the company.
