Hyundai to build a third assembly plant in China to meet the demand

Hyundai announced that it will build its third assembly plant in China with a capacity to make 400,000 vehicles a year, in order to meet the demand in the so-called world's largest auto market. With this new factory, Hyundai is planning to boost its production capacity in China to more than 1 million vehicles a year. The plant will be located in Beijing and it is scheduled to be completed by 2012, according to an official statement. Furthermore, Hyundai plans to sales in China to 670,000 vehicles this year from 570,000 last year and it is betting on nation’s growing economy. Hyundai said that it sold almost 437,000 units in the country during the first eight months of the year, which means that last year numbers will be history. [via autonews - sub. required]
