Hyundai Veloster to make its debut at the 2010 LA Auto Show

At the Los Angeles Auto Show this November, Hyundai will launch the Veloster coupe that debuted as a concept in 2007. Hyundai expects this model to compete directly with the Volkswagen Scirocco. This will become Hyundai's flagship car in the UK in early 2011. A source said that Hyundai is relying on the car's looks to appeal to consumers, especially since it was designed to rival the Scirocco. It's likely that this Veloster coupe will be powered by a 168bhp 1.4 turbo petrol with stop-start and direct injection. It's believed that a normally aspirated unit be available too. For this model, Hyundai promises even more dramatic styling than the concept car. A highlight of this car is the Mini Clubman-style asymmetric doors, which will be redesigned for right-hand-drive cars.
