In preparation for production of the Hyundai IX35 crossover at Kia's Slovakian plant slated for next year, the Korean manufacturer has begun testing the prototype production line equipment. The Tucson replacement is the first non-Kia car to be built at the Zilina, Slovakia facility. The engine facility at the plant already makes identical albeit rebadged units for both Kia and Hyundai. According to sources, the IX35 will be offered with Hyundai's traditional 5-year deal instead of the 7-year warranty standard on all Kias. Sources cited marketing reasons.
