When Infiniti announced its 2013 model lineup, the G25 sedan was conspicuously absent. It had its debut almost two years ago and since then, it was considered a worthy rival to BMW‘s 328i model. It was criticized because of its pricing and because it was very similar to the G37 model. This is believed to be Infiniti’s main reason for discontinuing the model. The other G sedan models that were phased out are the G37 Sport Appearance Edition and the G37 Limited Edition. Aside from these, no other significant revisions were made. With regards to the G Coupe, Infiniti axed the base model for the 2013 model year. The convertible variant will have the IPL model added to the collection. The 2013 lineup will also mean the inclusion of the 3.7-liter to the EX and FX lineups. The EX model got a 28hp boost while the FX model received a 22hp increase. Some of the models were renamed to reflect the engine change -- EX37 and FX37. There’s a question of why the all-new JX continues to be powered by the aging 3.5-liter but it’s possible that Infiniti will update the JX for 2014 by giving it the 3.7-liter.
