Infiniti EX and FX now available with a V6 diesel engine

Infiniti EX and FX models are now available to order with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the first time a diesel engine has ever appeared in Infiniti's 20-year history. The 235bhp, 406lb ft direct-injection engine will also feature in the firm's new M saloon, due to go on sale later this year. The engine helps the EX30d get from 0-62mph in 7.9sec and the FX30d covers the same distance in 8.3sec. Infiniti's European vice president Jim Wright said a diesel engine was a must if Infiniti was to establish itself in Europe. "We were aware from the outset that for Infiniti to offer a complete range a powerful diesel engine was a must, especially in the European premium SUV market where diesel represents the bulk of sector sales," he said.
