Italy to extend incentives for people to buy less-polluting cars
The Italian government will extend its incentive scheme to encourage people to buy less-polluting cars and appliances, Industry Minister Claudio Scajola told reporters in Brussels on Monday. Existing incentives had initially been due to end on Dec. 31 but Scajola said that they have come up with a measure that will allow the incentives to continue in January. Fiat S.p.A., which has about one-third of Italy’s car market, has benefited the most from the tax breaks offered to buyers of new cars.
