As one of the legendary races, the Mille Miglia, although not being run anymore as a contemporary competitive race, it is still commemorated annually with a presentation of a historic rally along the original route through the countryside of Italy. Generally, Alfa Romeos, Ferraris and Maseratis compose the majority of the participant although Jaguar will join with the full support of a factory-backed contingent this year. A fleet of some of the most famous classics together with a long-nose D-Type, the C-Type which competed at the Mille Miglia in 1953, with three additional vintage C-Types and Mark VII saloon will be brought out by the Jaguar Heritage Trust. In addition to these models, Jaguar will also be coming out with a fleet of its latest XKRs and XFRs to complement the occasion, a truly impressive lineup to commemorate the brand's heritage. Norman Dewis, the well-known Jaguar factory test driver who drove together with Stirling Moss in 1952 at the event, will also be present. [via autoblog]
