Jaguar announced that the popular XF will get a new version of the 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine delivering 163 PS. For those who don’t know, the model is based on the 190 PS model which crossed the United States averaging 62.9 mpg. The new Jaguar XF model will have a price tag of £29,950 OTR, but despite its price it will feature an extensive range of standard equipment such as suedecloth and leather seats, a touch screen centrally mounted display, electronic climate control and an advanced 8-speed gearbox complete with automatic Stop-Start.
According to the British manufacturer owned by Indian group Tata Motors, the new 2012 Jaguar XF 2.2D 163 PS can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 9.8 seconds and has a maximum speed of 130 mph or 210 km/h.
On the combined cycle this model can achieve an impressive fuel consumption of 52.3 mpg and it emits 149 g/km of CO2. Market debut will be made in March but Jaguar dealers are already taking orders. If you are disappointed by this model, you can choose the XFR version powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing a mighty 510 PS.
