2010 Jaguar XF Diesel S
The revisions to the Jaguar XF range are bound to excite driving enthusiasts. A 271bhp Diesel S model with part XFR styling has been created. Also, a lower entry-level price for the range has been introduced. Priced from £38,475, the Diesel S now has an XFR derived interior as standard. As part of a 'Dynamics Pack', it also gets the Adaptive Dynamics system, currently available on the XFR and XK range as an option. Adaptive Dynamics makes an analysis of the chassis movement and steering inputs 500 times a second and with this information, it adapts the suspension.
In addition, the Dynamics Pack has 20-inch five-spoke alloys, and is priced from £1,250. Mike Cross, chief engineer (vehicle integrity) said that the lessons that have been learned from the XFR were applied in order to have "more sophisticated, sporting driving dynamics to the Diesel S model."
Cross added that the latest Diesel S is fitted with the state-of-the-art Adaptive Dynamics system, resulting to taut handling and superb body control. Another upside to it is that it performs well without the noise and harshness often associated with 'sports' suspension packages. Consumers can opt for an 'Aerodynamic Pack' priced from £1500. With LED lights, the price goes up to £2000. With this styling pack, you can expect the addition of black mesh inserts for the grille and lower air intakes and XFR style side sills. The entry-level 3.0-litre V6 petrol Luxury model is priced from £29,900.
