Jaguar working on a new coupe and roadster pair badged XE

Jaguar is hard at work in creating the 2013 XE, a new coupe that falls in the same market segment as the Porsche Boxster and Cayman. Building the upcoming 2013 Jaguar XE is said to be in alignment with Jaguar's goal to be the British Porsche. Pricing for the vehicle is estimated to be about 60,000 Euros. It will have a new lightweight architecture and a front-engine platform with rear-wheel-drive. It is expected to be equipped with a supercharged V6 engine developing around 350 hp or a naturally aspirated one with 270 hp. Two years after the launch of the base model, the company plans to launch a 2013 Jaguar XER version. [via carmagazine]
