Get a chance to win a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee by entering an online Jeep "Name My Ride" contest. All you need to do is submit a name for the new edition of Chrysler’s flagship Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV, which was presented at the Houston and Washington, D.C., auto shows. The winning name chosen for the all-black concept will be revealed this May.
This concept SUV has a platinum-chrome front-end and has been fitted with a set of black-gloss 20-inch wheels plus exterior treatments.
Mike Manley, CEO of the Jeep Brand, said that the new Grand Cherokee concept offers a totally new look that’s “edgy and aggressive” and very different from any Grand Cherokee that could be seen on the road. Chrysler aims to get feedback about this vehicle through this contest and the presentation of this concept at the auto shows.
Chrysler declined to provide assurances that the special Grand Cherokee would enter production but Manley said that if the company receives enough positive feedback, the concept may become available after a few months.
The Jeep brand presented other limited-edition models of its vehicles, namely: the Wrangler Call of Duty, Wrangler Arctic and Islander, and Liberty Arctic. In 2011, Jeep sold 419,349 units in the U.S., about 44% higher than in 2010.
“We plan to garner feedback from consumers at the Houston Auto Show, and via our online Jeep ‘Name My Ride’ contest,” Manley added. “If the level of excitement is what we anticipate, this new Grand Cherokee will be in Jeep showrooms this spring.”
