KTM X-Bow Superlight revealed at the Geneva Motor Show

KTM X-Bow Superlight

With performance at the forefront of its design, the KTM X-BOW does not come with a lot of creature comforts. The X-BOW's unique design: no roof or windshield, no air-condition and no entertainment feature are all intended for the driver to focus on the most important thing at hand driving. The supercar also comes with an unprecedented carbon fiber monocoque, something that only F1 and other one-seater racing formula employed. On the street, however, such a chassis, which is quite expensive, is rarely used. Thus, KTM is proud to be the very first car manufacturer to provide such a chassis at an affordable tag.

The carbon fiber chassis was created in partnership with racing and sports carmaker Dallara and carbon fiber expert Wethje. The utilization of carbon fiber, a material originally used in space and later in F1, provides a completely new range of possibilities for sportscar construction which the X-B0W have extensively taken advantage of. The material combines unparalleled structural strength of 35,000Nm/o in spite of an open cockpit with an tremendously low weight and incomparable safety.

The X-BOX has successfully met the stringent FIA crash test demands from the very beginning. In addition to its advanced monocoque upon which rests a carbon crash box and inboard pushrod suspension, are the black body panels that showcase carbon fiber that provide it its unique looks. The X-BOW flagship model comes fully-loaded. It comes with a limited-slip differential, very light alloy rims with a single central wheel nut, and a lap timer beside others and a sticker price of 79,980 Euros.
