The 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth made its debut today at the 2011 LA Auto Show and also introduced the new 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine. As expected, this engine delivers an impressive 160 hp and 170 lb.-ft. (230 Nm) of torque and uses a heavy-duty five-speed manual transmission with Torque Transfer Control (TTC) system.
The design of the car is not new, at least to our European readers, but if you don’t know anything about the car we should tell you that the 2012 Fiat 500 Abath was designed using the words small and mean.
As you can see from the photos, the car has an aggressive look and features a blacked-out fascia accent integrates projector-beam fog lamps and helps direct air for engine cooling. Moreover, we find Abarth-designed side skirts, new Abarth-designed 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels, or optional 17-inch lightweight forged-aluminum wheels and a two-piece Abarth-styled rear fascia.
The interior continues the sporty theme and the Fiat 500 Abarth comes with an Abarth-designed steering wheel, an 160-mph speedometer and Nero leather with Rosso accent stitching.
