Prior to the 2011 LA Auto Show which will take plant at the end o November, Fiat unveiled today the American version of its popular 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth. For those who don’t know, the car is an immense success on European roadways and racetracks, offering world-class performance and precision, world-class performance and precision as well as a high power-to-weight ratio.
Based on the 2012 Fiat 500, the new Fiat 500 Abarth is designed for track-day enthusiasts and driving-purists who want a small car with the pedigree of an exclusive Italian exotic.
The new Abarth model will feature the first turbocharged version of Fiat's 1.4-liter MultiAir engine, delivering 160 hp. ThIs means that the engine has 59 hp more than the 101 hp 500 and 500C models.
Comparing it with the standard models, the 2012 Fiat 500 will get a stiffer suspension, wider tires as well as a new body kit and a sporty interior. Set to take on cars such as the MINI Cooper S, the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth will join the Fiat 500 and 500 Cabrio in Fiat's U.S. lineup early next year.
