Besides the 500L Trekking, Fiat also brought at the 2012 LA Auto Show the 500 Cabrio (500C) Abarth. Just like the Fiat 500 Abarth, the convertible comes with the same 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine delivering 160 horsepower, up to 170 ft.-lb. of torque. With these numbers, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) is made in the low 7 second range.
The new Abarth 500C comes equipped with the track-proven C510 five-speed manual transmission. Comparing it with the standard Fiat 500C, the Abarth 500C comes with a new body kit consisting of a new front bumper, new side sills, a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system as well as a new rear roof spoiler.
The design is completed by the 16 x 6.5-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped in high-performance Pirelli tires. For better performance, 17-inch wheels are available as an option. The sporty theme is continued at the interior where the vehicles features a new steering wheel, an analog turbo-boost gauge with integrated LED shift light, a new set of aluminum pedal covers and a Nero leather shift knob with Rosso accent stitching.
At the push of a button, the driver of the Fiat 500C Abarth can retract the cloth top up to the rear spoiler during speeds up to a best-in-class 60 mph (a midway point can be chosen by pressing the button anytime in between).
