The 2013 Fiat 500e made its official debut today showing its impressive Electrico Arancione Perla (Electric Orange) color together with the contrasting lower fascia and the Bianca Perla (White) interior available as standard. And if you thought that the 500e looks just like the rest of the 1 million vehicles sold, you’d better think again as the vehicle comes with a front fascia sealing, it is aerodynamically optimized in order to offer higher range, has 15-inch aluminum wheels, streamlined exterior mirror caps, under vehicle bellypans, wind-tunnel-sculpted side sills, drag reducing rear fascia design and liftgate-mounted aerodynamic spoiler.
Moreover, the 2013 Fiat 500 offers three exterior appearances: Nero, Bianca Perla and e-Sport Package. The Nero includes front and rear lower dot-matrix patterned fascia accents painted in Nero, along with body-color spoiler and mirror caps. Moreover, Nero is available is Argento, Grigio (gray), Bianco Perla (pearl white) and Nero exterior paint.
The Bianco Perla includes the optional Steam (white) interior environment and the vehicle features front and rear lower dot-matrix patterned fascia accents, spoiler and mirror caps painted in tri-coat Bianco Perla paint. The e-Sport Package offers an aggressive design and the 2013 Fiat 500e comes with front and rear lower dot-matrix patterned fascia accents painted in Nero, headlamp, park lamp and tail lamp surrounds in Nero, uniquely finished cast-aluminum wheels painted Nero with Electrico Arancione Perla accented inserts, Electrico Arancione Perla mirror caps and gradient-style lower bodyside graphic for a high-voltage look. Paired with the Nero interior environment, the Fiat 500e equipped with the e-Sport Package is available in Argento, Grigio, Bianco Perla and Nero exterior paint.
The interior features a retro-futuristic interior environment in Steam or Nero with Electric Orange accents and unique EV technology elements. Furthermore, we find a 7-inch TFT screen in the dashboard that promises to provide the basis driving information but also the status of the battery and range. The Fiat 500e is propelled by an electric motor delivering 111 hp (83 kW) and 147 pound-feet of torque.
Energy is stored in a 24 kWh hour liquid-cooled/heated lithium-ion battery and according to the official press release it takes less than 4 hours to recharge the battery with Level 2 (240 volt) on-board charging module (OBCM). Using the 15-inch Firehawk GT low-rolling resistance tires, the Fiat 500e has a range of more than 80 miles.
