After one teaser, the all-new Jaguar XFR-S was finally unveiled today at the 2012 LA Auto Show. The new car will be powered by the same engine found on the XKR-S, which means a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine capable to pump 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. With these numbers, the XFR-S will hit 100 km/h (62) mph in 4.5 seconds and will have a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph or 300 km/h.
In terms of design, the XFR-S comes with a new aggressive body kit consisting of a new front bumper with larger air intakes, new side sills, a big rear wing and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system. Moreover, the new Jaguar XFR-S will be available in 5 special colors: French Racing Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Gray, Italia Racing Red and Polaris White.
What’s more interesting about this car is that its eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF will adapt to your driving style, which means if you have an aggressive style of driving the transmission will automatically make the gear changes at higher revs. Still, this doesn’t mean that when you stop at a traffic light, the standard Start/Stop system won’t shut down your engine.
According to the official press release, both front and rear suspensions are stiffer (30%) for better handling. The design of the car is completed by a new set of 6-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance Pirelli tires. In the United States, Jaguar will offer only 200 units of its XFR-S. No words about the price yet!
