Mercedes-Benz revealed at the 2013 LA Auto Show the GLA 45 AMG Concept, a prototype version of the upcoming sporty crossover. As expected, the GLA 45 AMG Concept is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine developing 360 hp (265 kW) and 450 Nm of torque, same engine found on the A45 AMG and the CLA45 AMG.
With this engine, the crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 5 seconds and using the AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission it achieves a fuel consumption of 7 l/100 km.
Regarding the design, we find an AMG bodykit consisting of a new front bumper, stylish front grille, side sills, a rear roof spoiler, a sporty rear bumper with integrated exhaust system as well the well-known AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design painted in matt black with a red rim flange.
The production version of this concept is expected to debut next spring at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. [source: Mercedes-Benz]
