After one teaser, the all-new Lexus LF-C2 Concept arrived at the 2014 LA Auto Show and as expected, this vehicle preview an open-top version of the RC Coupe. Showing a 2+2 layout, the concept is derived from a pure and simple sports coupe idea but because it is just a design study, it doesn’t feature any kind of a top covering the cabin.
According to Jeff Bracken, Lexus Division general manager, the LF-C2 Concept is a powerful and emotional car that was created to appeal to younger customer. The stylish design lines are underlined by the brilliant, golden yellow finish produced by a multi-layer process.
Lexus says that the first coat is a primer, while the second one is silver, followed by a clear coat and then the yellow that reflects the silver in order to give it a brilliant luster. After that, a final top coat is then applied. When it comes to design, the LF-C2 Concept shows a front end dominated by the Lexus’ signature spindle-shaped grille, triangle-shaped LED headlights and stylish indicator lamps.
At the rear, we find L-shaped taillights, chrome-covered quad exhaust tips and a new rear air diffuser. Five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels complete the design. The interior shows white and gray leather surfaces, an analog clock located between the central air vents, as well as a central video monitor which is controlled via the Remote Touchpad on the center console.
