Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept seen at 2015 LA Auto Show

Article by Andrew Christian, on November 20, 2015

Subaru introduced the Impreza Sedan Concept at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. What makes this all-new Impreza so remarkable is that it is the first of the brand’s next-gen vehicles to be built on a new modular platform. Compared to the previous generation Impreza, the new model is not as angular and is quite sportier.

It also boasts of a more rugged and powerful stance as it uses the brand’s new Dynamic x Solid design language. However, this novel design isn’t limited to the Impreza and will be seen in Subaru’s upcoming vehicles. Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the car’s front, rear, and sides have been seamlessly united to form a solid and muscular body, a trademark design of Subaru.

Aerodynamics is improved by an integrated rear spoiler as well as a functional front valance. The brand, of course, has always made it a point to combine styling and purpose. For instance, its lines have been positioned well to offer character as well as boost the vehicle’s dynamics.

This compact sedan is available with a Ruby Red Metallic color with glossy black accents, exuding sportiness and an energetic feel. From the front, this Impreza sedan concept is easily recognizable as a Subaru because of the resemblance with other models.

It features the hexagonal grille, hawk-eye headlights and aircraft-inspired wing that many other Subaru models use. Its profile has these prominent flared fenders that start off the sharp character line that is visible throughout the car’s length. In keeping with the design theme, there’s a second upswept character line that is seen alongside the lower door panels.

In addition, it comes with a set of 19” wheels that are level with the wheel arches. These emphasize the concept’s wide stance even further. Another key aspect of its new design is its fender flares that are indicative of its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

At the rear, there is a sharp character line that smoothly merges into the rear tail lamps from the sides and meets at the rear. Another sporty feature is its sleek new trunk lid. The rear taillights are styled similarly to its headlights that offer a low and wide illumination.

Its body has the following dimensions: length of 179.3”, width of 70”, and height of 57.2”. It has a wheelbase that measures 105.1” while it has a tire size of 235/40 R19. With these measurements, the sedan has a seating capacity for 5 people.
