The 2016 Mazda6 will continue to offer the 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G direct-injection gasoline engine that produces 184 hp (137 kW) and 185 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. The engine is bolted as standard to a Skyactiv-MT manual transmission or the six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission.
Mazda took a step further in making sure that the MY2016 Mazda6 will deliver greater driving experience with higher level of ride comfort and quietness. All thanks to Mazda-exclusive SKYACTIV Technology, the new Mazda6 is now more capable of making the drivers feel that they are one with their cars, thereby allowing them to experience better driving enjoyment.
For the latest update of the SKYACTIV Technology, Mazda’s development team focused on improving the vehicle’s NVH and seat performance and adopted Drive Selection for the SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission.
Still powering the MY2016 Mazda6 is a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G direct-injection gasoline engine mated to either the six-speed automatic SKYACTIV-DRIVE or the six-speed manual SKYACTIV-MT transmissions.
Along with the carmaker’s i-stop idling stop feature and i-ELOOP brake energy regeneration system, the powertrains promise to provide just the perfect balance of linear, dynamic acceleration and outstanding fuel economy and environmental friendliness.
The cabin of the MY2016 Mazda6 also features superb figures. In fact, the amount of noise that gets into the cabin is trimmed by around 10 percent on rough roads and by about 25 percent on highways. Mazda also took painstaking efforts to ensure that the flagship’s revised front and rear seat structure delivers a great feeling of fit and comfort.
Thanks to the adoption of the Drive Selection features for the SKYACTIV-DRIVE, drivers could choose from different driving modes that suit their style. As its flagship mode, Mazda made sure that the Mazda6 features world-class safety.
To achieve this, the Mazda6 makes good use of the carmaker’s i-ACTIVSENSE advanced safety technologies derived from Mazda Proactive Safety – all contributing towards making the vehicle a very safe modern machine to drive and towards giving its occupants peace of mind in terms of road safety.
