Lamborghini revealed today the all-new Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, lighter version of the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder which promises to deliver better handling and performances. As we already told you yesterday, the car is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine delivering 570 hp (419 kW) at 8,000 rpm and an impressive 540 Nm of torque (398,3 ft lbs) at 6,500 rpm.

With these numbers the car can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 3.9 second, while the top speed is limited to 324 km/h (201 mph). The engine is mated via the e-gear transmission operated via steering wheel paddles, as standard. As expected, the e-gear control unit has three operating modes: two of them are available in automatic, while the third (Thrust mode) is programmed to deliver maximum performance and to deliver starting revs of around 5,000 rpm with minimal wheel slip.

Due to the power increase, the car comes with a powerful braking system using aluminum eight-piston calipers on the front wheels, with four-piston units at the rear. The ventilated brake discs have diameters of 365 and 356 millimeters, but as an option Lamborghini offers lightweight discs made from carbon-fiber ceramic with six-piston calipers up front, which have a diameter of 380 millimeters.

Regarding the design, the new car comes with a redesigned front bumper, new side sills as well as a new rear spoiler. As expected, the rear spoiler, sills, diffuser, parts of the underbody paneling and the fine exterior mirror casings are made of carbon fiber.

In addition, the car is with 65 kilograms (143 lbs) lighter comparing it to the standard Gallardo Spyder. Moreover, carbon fiber elements are also used at the interior on the sports seats’ shells, door panels and on the e-gear automated manual transmission lever. Still, the car is offered with air conditioning and electric windows as standard. The interior retains a sporty black finish in Alcantara.

As contrasting colors for seat stitching, customers can choose from green, yellow, orange and two shades of gray. They match exterior paint finishes in Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Nero Noctis and Bianco Monocerus. The design is completed by the new set of 19-inch wheels, which save 13 kilograms (28.6 lb).
