Qoros unveils Q: QorosQloud Qubed Concept for 2014 LA Design Challenge

Article by Christian Andrei, on November 12, 2014

Qoros announced its debut in the 2014 LA Design Challenge with their new Q: QorosQloud Qubed. According to the company, the concept is designed by Jamie Barrett, Aditya Mahajan and Alex O’Brien amongst others and was created as an intelligent, multi-dimensional personal management assistant.

Qoros says that the concept is able to learn from the drive over a period of time through the five senses, developing and growing over time.

Well, that sounds spooky as we don’t want to see the little Q: QorosQloud Qubed Concept tranform into a Terminator. What’s more interesting is that the concept is able to maximize safety and will identify when the user is distracted or when the vehicle is driven irresponsibly, switching to an autonomous driving mode.

Tim Pilsbury, Design Director at Qoros Design Shanghai, said, “We are extremely proud of our entry for this year’s LA Auto Show Design Challenge. We pioneered the innovative QorosQloud connected services technology in our current real-world model line-up, so it was exciting to look ahead 15 years to conceive further developments of the platform. The Q: QorosQloud Qubed concept forecasts a futuristic smart human-machine interface, linking the car to the driver’s senses to create the ultimate connected driving and ownership experience.” [source: Qoros]
