Lamborghini Gallardo successor will be less “complicated”

Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Gallardo’s successor will have its launch in 2014 but then it will be offered with a more simplified list of variations. It’s notable that the Gallardo comes in numerous model iterations. Lamborghini America COO Michael Lock said that the range of the Gallardo’s successor will be more streamlined, not only because of financial purposes but mostly to make it simple for the customer. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options will be available to go along with the coupe and convertible variants. Furthermore, customers can choose a lighter-weight model but not necessarily in a specific configuration. For instance, it’s likely that there won’t be an all-wheel drive, lighter-weight convertible. Lamborghini also clarified that the Gallardo successor won’t be available with a manual transmission option. Sales of the manual-equipped Gallardos have been low. This is why the successor will only be featured with a dual-clutch gearbox. [source: Caranddriver]
