It was recently made public by Lamborghini that they have experienced a 30 percent drop in sales in the first five months of 2009 along with a forecast that the industry will not experience recovery until 2011 at least. In 2008, Lamborghini raised pre-tax profit to 27 percent representing 60 million Euros on income up 2.5 percent represented by 479 million Euros. The implementation of cost cutting measures has specifically enhanced profits. Although their sales have fallen down to 30 percent, the company says that they can still stay profitable even when sales drop down to 40 percent this year. Lamborghini sees a similar scenario for next year and recovery will begin by 2011. VW AG, the largest car manufacturer in Europe, owns Lamborghini.
