Lamborghini revealed today the second teaser of its upcoming supercar which will be unveiled by the end of the month at the 2010 Paris Motor Show (better than the first one though, still not very clear). As you may know already, Lamborghini is known for extreme and uncompromising supersportscars and the new supercar will be build following the new trends in the market. Apparently, until few years ago the priorities, when building a supercar, were: top speed, acceleration and handling.
Now that all supercars are exceeding speeds of 300km/h (186 mph), it appears that Lamborghini will focus more on handling and acceleration. This means that the new car will deliver better handling and acceleration, which means a bigger power-to-weight ratio.
Furthermore, the CO2 emissions will play a role for supercars too, and the key in lowering these emissions is reducing the weight.
According to Lamborghini the weight of their cars increased by 500 kg because of active and passive safety, comfort and emissions reduction issues and now they need to changes this and reduce the weight using new materials, such as carbon fiber. Every new Lamborghini will make the best use of carbon fiber to reduce weight.
